Call to Local & Regional Artists: JAX Concourse B Mural Projects

Projects: The Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) invites professional North Florida and South Georgia artists to create permanent, painted mural artworks in the interior of the newly constructed Concourse B. The JAA seeks submissions from accomplished, fine artists who paint in realism, transitional, and abstract styles. Many, but not all, works commissioned will be natural landscapes in subject matter.

Budget: Varies and will be dependent upon space(s) assigned. $25,000-100,000+ per project

Eligibility: Inviting all professional North Florida and South Georgia-based artists eighteen years of age or older, living and working in the sixteen-county service region of JAX. In Northeast Florida this includes Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, and Union counties, and in Southeast Georgia includes Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Clinch, Glynn, and Ware counties.

 Art Theme: Oak & Ocean
 Deadline to submit: July 13, 2026, 11:59 p.m.

Medium: May be painted on canvas (as opposed to direct application on site). In this event, murals will be applied to location with organic wallpaper paste.*

*These best practices follow the long term, conservation-based installation of “Habitation I, II, and III”, ca 1997-2005, by Donald Martin (Flagler College Professor Emeritus) which adorns the entire north-south length of the entrance to Jacksonville International Airport.

Installation: May occur anytime between October – December 2026.
Submission Requirements: This is a R.F.I. style call (Request for Information). Therefore, one only need submit the following for consideration:
 • 10, or more, completed images of works to be viewed by the selection committee, please send as attachments and not as a condensed PDF. Cannot accept emails over 20 MBs, therefore send multiple emails as needed.
